Frequently Asked Questions about Dermapen Cryo™
Do I need a pre-treatment appointment?
Pre-treatment medical assessment of lesions and annual skin checks are recommended.
Do I need a follow-up appointment?
A follow-up appointment is recommended between 2-4 weeks after treatment to ensure lesions have been completely removed or if another treatment session is needed.
How is Dermapen Cryo™ better than other methods of removing skin blemishes?
Dermapen Cryo™ mole and wart removal treatment requires no anesthesia and has less scarring compared with other techniques of skin lesion removal.
How does Dermapen Cryo™ work?
Dermapen Cryo™ uses extreme cold to treat the affected area. Treatment involves freezing the blemish. This is virtually pain-free. After the frozen area thaws a scab will develop and normal healing will occur. After primary healing occurs the area may be whiter than the surrounding tissue, usually this re-pigments over time.
How long does the Dermapen Cryo™ treatment take?
Freeze time varies depending on the type of lesion. A typical freeze time is between 5 seconds for small flat warts to 120 seconds for a full thickness lesion. For general purposes most lesions take about 30-60 seconds.
