Great results can be achieved with just one treatment. You will typically be able to see noticeable results one week after your treatment. We recommend a course of three treatments with a break of four to six weeks between each session. This allows for new cell reproduction, collagen and elastin stimulation and general skin healing.

Minor swelling, redness, mild pinpoint bruising may occur. Slight crusting and darkening of the skin which is temporary and part of the healing process may also occur.

The treatment includes application of an anaesthetic cream. This makes the treatment painless. Some mild sharpness may be felt rarely.

The Prickles Roller® can achieve amazing results, noticeably improving the appearance of old scars or sun damaged skin, as well as revitalising and rejuvenating your appearance. As it is not necessary to remove the healthy skin with skin needling, the Prickles Roller® procedure offers a rapid healing time and is relatively pain free. Unlike with some skin therapies, there is no risk of permanent skin discolouration. The Prickles Roller® treatment is suitable for all skin types and does not result in skin sensitivity to UV light. This is a cost effective alternative to other skin therapies and has minimal to no side effects.

The Prickles Roller® is precision-engineered and features micro-needles which, when rolled across the dermis (skin), creates pin-point punctures. These tiny puncture wounds are perceived by the body as damage, beginning the onset of the natural healing process and stimulating the release of growth factors that trigger the production of collagen and elastin. By having a number of skin needling sessions with the Dermaroller, new collagen and elastin are produced progressively, gradually filling indented scars and deep lines.

At Beautify SA we use the Prickles Roller® system, which is preferred by leading experts throughout the field of aesthetic medicine. This precision-engineered device has a fine, durable edge, causing less pain and irritation than stainless steel rollers.

The Prickles Roller® procedure is virtually pain free as we use a local anaesthetic cream prior to treatment. The ‘roller’ is then applied all over the treatable area – this takes about 20 minutes, after which the skin is rehydrated and post care advice is given.

Side effects of Prickles Roller® treatments are minimal but may include post treatment redness. This can be effectively camouflaged with mineral make-up. Your skin may feel a little tight or sensitive for up to 24 to 48 hours following the procedure.

You can return to normal activities. The use of an appropriate SPF is recommended.

The treatment results typically last for up to a year.
