How do Chemical Skin Peels work?
Skin peel dissolve skin cells on the surface and temporarily open up microscopic “gaps” between the skin cells which allows the peel to penetrate to the deeper layers where its’ action is needed. While there are number of different types and strengths of peel available, we’ll discuss which option is best for you at consultation.
How many treatments do I need?
Our Medical Grade Italian Peeling System is a course of 3 – 4. One every 2 to 3 weeks and are preceded by 2 to 3 weeks skin preparation.
Depending on the extent of your problem or the size of the area involved, it may be necessary to have more than one type and/or more than one course of peels.
How long is each treatment?
Each procedure is generally 10 – 15 minutes which will include any preparation and post procedures necessities.
How will it feel?
Peels generally produce a temporary stinging sensation which passes quickly and is well controlled with a small hand held fan.
What happens after treatment?
The beauty of our Medical Grade Italian Peeling System is there are a few obvious signs of peeling. Generally there is no swelling or redness post-peel however your skin may feel a little drier than normal which can be helped by using the products provided. Sunscreen is recommended for daily use during and after the course.
When will I see the results?
Depending on your specific skin type and problem, you may see results after one peel but the course is designed to work over 3 months so it is then when you will see the optimum effect.
