INTENSE PULSED LIGHT (IPL)
We use a system called “Ellipse”. Ellipse is a leader in hair reduction systems; it used short, safe bursts of intense pulsed light called I2PL but is often referred to as a laser. This removes unwanted hair from all body sites. The results last for years.
The light is absorbed by the melanin in the hair bulb which destroys the re-growth potential of the follicle without damaging the surrounding skin.
PROCESS
At your initial consultation a comprehensive assessment is made plus you will be given a quote and estimated number of sessions required. Some hair types and colours as well as some skin types are not suitable for treatment.
Avoiding a quick fix will actually fast track your hair loss and save you money in the long run. Economical offers may seem tempting but if the settings are not customized to your skin type and hair colour, it could mean more frequent treatments, more money and more of your time in the long run.
Expert clinics like Beautify SA offer customized settings for optimal and personalized effectiveness reducing the amount of return treatments. At Beautify SA each client is treated as an individual, settings are customized and preceded by a “test patch” to ensure safety and effectiveness.
The treated area will be cleaned to prepare the skin. The IPL treatment head is rested on the skin and light is pulsed. Each pulse results in a warming sensation and what clients describe as a flick of a rubber band on the skin. The dead hairs will detach from the hair follicle and fall out over the next 2 – 3 weeks.
Many clients experience no side effects. Some clients will experience redness similar to waxing which diminishes over a few hours. A full list of aftercare instructions will be discussed with you post treatment.
Most people will have progressive reduction of hair growth with each treatment. Typically a course of 6 – 8 treatments are done. Some clients will get complete hair reduction with no or minimal growth, while others will require yearly maintenance.
Prepaid treatment packages have been developed to ensure you are looked after for the course of the treatment.
